How to get involved
Eligibility
Currently enrolled students and postdocs at UIC who are eager to participate in our events and activities are eligible to join the AAPS Student Chapter at UIC. While we strongly encourage AAPS membership, it is not mandatory for becoming a chapter member. However, please note that AAPS membership is a requirement for individuals interested in taking up leadership positions within our board, as outlined in further detail in the membership section below.

Leadership Positions
Our leadership structure comprises five officers: Chair, Chair-Elect, Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary, forming the executive committee. Additionally, a minimum of three members serve on the events planning committee, with one member assuming the role of Social Chair. All officers and committee members must maintain active membership with the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences and demonstrate dedication to the organization's mission, goals, and values.
Officer elections align with the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences' renewal schedule, taking place in November each year. Any member within the UIC chapter can nominate themselves or others, provided they are registered AAPS members. Nomination announcements will be distributed via email to PSCi students and all chapter members, while also being featured on our website's "News" section in October.
